The DC Arts Center (DCAC) accepts proposals from artists on a rolling basis. Artists may submit their original work for consideration in either a solo or group exhibition. We accept applications from all artists working seriously in their field and do not discriminate based on politics, race, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

Proposals are reviewed by DCAC's Visual Arts Committee on a quarterly basis. Once your proposal is received, a member of our staff may reach out to schedule a studio visit or meeting with members of the Visual Arts Committee. 

Exhibitions are generally scheduled 6 to 12 months in advance. 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Artist statement
• CV or Resume
• Image Identification List
• High-resolution images that clearly reflect your art practice (submitted as .jpg files)

SUBMISSION BEST PRACTICES

Artist statement, image list, and CV/resume should be uploaded as .pdf or .doc files. Images should be submitted as .jpg files. Artists wishing to submit samples of video work should provide links to the samples on their website or on a video-sharing site (Vimeo, YouTube etc) in the artwork identification list.
